98 F150 5.4 Triton xlt major coolant leak

DESPERATELY NEED ADVICE!
Recently fell into this vehicle because a friend owned til it overheated on her. Just told.me to pick it up and keep it if I could fix it.

Put water/coolant into the fill tank while truck.running and within seconds it's raining underneath!
I keep reading about a hose behind the water pump that's only purpose is to connect the water pump to a copper /brass tubing that is small enough to go through the V valley to the fire wall, climb fire wall and connect waterflow to the heater core. #1, it seems like that hose has all but disintegrated and once the thermostat opens, she drains dry in minutes. Impossible to get to without tearing the top off the entire motor, but can be done I reckon. Never had an F150 before and I hear different stories that it may be the o-ring on water pump and then I hear that year doesn't have an o-ring that could be causing this. Anyone know for sure?
#2 Today I noticed water splashing against the firewall directly to the right of the heater core supply. Traced it down and found about a 1/4" split in the weld seem of the manifold pipe on top left, closest to firewall. Turn off truck and fill tank and watched a steady stream flow out til empty.
Is this in fact the manifold? I'm not a mechanic so I'm learning what part is what .
Can someone please shed some light on this as I need this truck badly to be reliable. I have used JB weld before but am concerned about it withstanding the temp of this aluminum tube and will it hold. The funny thing is, as long as I keep water in it it runs like a champ! No knocks, no compression loss or hesitation...and no water / oil infiltrate.
Can't find an existing post addressing this kind of problem....ANYONE HAVE AN IDEA ON THIS

There is a coolant line that runs from the front through the 'block valley' under the intake' out the rear of the block.
You will have to do what you have to to repair the issue.
If it is split, sounds like there was not enough antifreeze low temperature protection at some point and it froze in winter weather.
I would get all the parts and gaskets before starting the job.
Intake gasket set, 2 gal anti freeze and any other items needed for the job.
Go to a dealer parts dept. and ask them to print out the blowup of the assembly along with the part numbers.
Good luck.
